**Unfortunately, this achievement is no longer possible to unlock as of around November 2021. Once you hit 2,000 hours on Steam (or any other hour milestone achievement in the game), you must close the software, reopen it for a good 15 seconds or so, then close it again for the achievement to pop. I recommend right clicking the small taskbar icon and minimizing the window if you'd like to keep it clean; it shouldn't change the CPU usage of the software, as it doesn't use much anyway (the whole point is to reduce that in other apps), but it'll be less in your way this way. 2,000 hours is equal to 83 days and 8 hours, or roughly a little under 3 months. So have fun waiting. The game measures playtime by checking your Steam profile's recently played games list for CPUCores, so if you're having issues getting the achievements for playtime to pop, then make sure your profile and games are public. You can private them again after getting the achievements, as well as in between getting each hours achievement. lylat's guide details the other achievements quite nicely, including a clever method of doing the *10 CPU Cores* achievement with a VM.
