You basically just need to find a merc who can survive for 25 days (600 hours) because each day of questing = one level. You can do this in two main ways:

1. Simply find a merc to hire who starts with a TTD (time to death) over 25 days.
2. Revive a merc (using some rubies) with a new TTD seed that has enough to pass 25 days.

Some important notes: clicking COMPLETE will advance only that specific merc's revive seed. Gold quests DO NOT advance seed. Skill quests do one seed advancement per skill activated from the quest. When a merc dies, any leftover quest time from their current quest is added to their new TTD. (In practice this means you can use short HS/Ruby/Skill/Relic quests to reach the desired revive seed (Slot 0) and then do gold quests until TTD is near 0, then accept a 48h quest to gain about 2 free days of TTD time)

Using the above knowledge and merc reader tool it is pretty easy to set things up so that you get a long revive TTD seed for the merc you would like to hit level 25.

How to go from Zone 0 to Zone 30,000 in about one month

When you first start the game, your only goal is to reach transcenion. I won't go too deep into the pre-transcension stuff here - just join a clan, start earning rubies, work towards buying 3-4 autoclickers, click the orange fish any time you see it, get mercs going, level up the characters as you see fit (play an active build), ascend when you hit a road block, and work towards first transcend.

Hot Tip: Work on your mercenary achievements the entire time you play, as these will take much longer than reaching Zone 30,000. I chose to focus on the fastest missions available each time to work towards the 1000 5-minute missions achievement (and was only about half way done by the time I hit Zone 30,000). I prioritized Ruby missions first and HS second if missions types were equal in shortness. Avoid skill missions for anything except 5-min missions as there are no achievements for 5/25/100/500 skill missions. Being in a good/stable clan help a LOT as you can get ~25-65 rubies per day from clan boss kills.

Once you complete your first transcension (and after each transcension) you should follow the same general guidelines above but once you hit Zone 130, immediately ascend and get some levels in Kuma, which will rapidly increase your progress. Do your next ascension once you reach into Xe6 HS, which will allow you to outright purchase all ancients.

After 1-2 ascensions each transcension, press the settings button in the top right and save, then cancel and copy/paste into here: https://kepow.org/clickerheroes/ (set it to Active build, display advanced and drag all three sliders as far to the right as possible). We do this because we plan to use skills constantly, and we want as many rubies as possible. Now with the "Copy ancient change to clipboard when selected" button checked you are going to go to your ancients and follow this efficient path:

1. Scroll and copy the same value to Argaiv, Bhall, and Fragsworth (hold V in-game and click to enter a specific number).
2. Copy Juggernaut's value to him.
3. Copy the value for Mammon and apply it to Mammon, Mimzee, and Pluto.
4. Now scroll to the far bottom and apply Vaagur's value to EVERY Ancient proceeding upwards except Morgulis (you will also always avoid the idle ancients Siyalatas, Nogardnit, and Libertas). After that, compare the value of what you just copy/pasted to all of them and if a few ancients require a few more clicks, go give them to that ancient.
5. Now go to Morgulis and simply purchase an impossibly huge amount like 9e999999 of him which will max it out and still leave you with a large amount of HS for re-gilding.

At this point you will have in-game autoclickers on the enemies (buy 3-4 in-game clickers max, you can use NIAutoclicker, etc. to gain some extra out-of-game autoclicker clicks if you would like but it is negligable) and 1 autoclicker on whichever hero you want to be leveling at that time. Relics can basically be completely ignored. Only slot in ones that give bonuses to skill timers.

Input your save into the Outsider Calculator like you've been doing for the Ancients Calculator: https://driej.github.io/Clicker-Heroes-Outsiders/ After about 8-10 ascensions you will reach near the HZE (Highest Zone Ever) level that the simulator on the Outsider Calculator recommends you transcend (and it will tell you where to spend your Ancient Souls). Transcend and follow the same steps above. Rinse and repeat.

You will spend most of the game with your gilds/leveling on Wepwawet, Tsuchi, and Skogur - right as you reach Zone 30,000 you will start to purchase Moeru.

It took me about 1 month real-world and 13 total transcensions (8-10 ascensions each) to reach Zone 30,000. I was a little bit over half way done with the various Mercenary achievements by this points, and I built up about 600 rubies that can then be used to more rapidly kill mercs for bury/revive/mission achievements.

Set "Number of recruits" to 300 or so and then press Ctrl+F to search the page for the * symbol - that recruit is Leeroy. There is a chance that he might be so far away that it's better to reset your game for a better merc seed.

Hire him, kill him, bury him.

Set "Number of recruits" to 100 or so and then press Ctrl+F to search the page for "Epic".

Proceed to bury and hire mercs until you hire an Epic Merc. If you hold control you can dismiss a merc at any time.
