There are 9 postcards in the game.
In Area 1:
The teacher will give you one if you answer his easy questions correctly (Random encounter)
A refugee will ask you for items and you will need to beat him. (Random encounter)
A bandit leader will have it, he is surrounded by dead bandits. (Random encounter)
The postcard can be found in the area boss' camp, check the area when you get to 100% area travel, its easy to miss, its on the ground.
- Even though the are random encounters, if you dont reload that often, you will encounter them for sure.
In Area 2:
By a broken tank, surrounded by artillery fire. (Random encounter)
You will meet a pair of twins, one of them will challenge you to a armwrestling match, click fast, you can use both mouse buttons.
In the area of the boss's camp, check the area when you get to 100%.
In Area 3:
By a downed helicopter, inside a crate. You can miss this one if you fail the "Pry" minigame.
In the boss's corpse, you cant miss this one, you automatically get it.
I suggest you save at the beginning of the area until you find all the random ones from that area, if you didnt, reload.
Nine postcards, good luck!

You can only apply for lodging at houses and hotels in area 4 and they are random encounters.
Make a save on area 4 and do a run, you should encounter from 3 to 5 places to lodge in a single run.
You need high INT to successfully lodge, I've found that even with 40 INT, some rolls have as low as 40% success percentage.
You can try for this at the same time as going for the rob and steal achievements, days and distance achievements and the gather all letters one.
Just grind at Area 4.
Cheers!

0- Hardest
Hell difficulty was Translated as Insane in the game, but the toughest difficulty is called Ultimate.
I did an Ultimate Hardcore (permadeath) run and it didnt unlock, I next did an Insane Hardcore run and it unlocked for me.
So there you go, wasted 4 hours because of a bad translation, hope you read this so you dont have to.
Cheers
